Our History
RESSAC is a real, living and breathing family business. It began over 80 years ago, when one man raising a family in Southern California started his own business. This is our legacy.
1929 – Michael Rohan opened his own business, Refrigeration Sales & Service.
1950s – Air conditioning became a mainstream appliance, and demand in Southern California was booming. Michael, with the help of his oldest twin sons Robert and William, grew the refrigeration business into an air conditioning and heating business.
1955-60 - Michael’s three younger sons, Tom, John, & Michael began working at the company. Over the next thirty years all three eventually left to form their own ventures. In the meantime the company grew rapidly with the help of five hard working family members.
1962 - The company incorporated doing business as RESSAC, an acronym for Refrigeration Sales & Service. RESSAC soon became a fixture in the industry.
1972 - Michael Rohan passed on, but his wife Eleanor survived him for close to 30 years. Eleanor was our best sales agent by far, coming to work every day until six months before she passed on at the age of 90.
1990s - William and Robert brought their sons Chris and Nick into the business to handle select accounts and to oversee the business operations. Other family members have also lent their talents over the years.
1996 - RESSAC began doing business as RESSAC Climate Control Technologies.
2009 - RESSAC launched new website, and introduced us to a new generation of customers.
